SUSTAINABLE FASHION
More than 150 billion pieces of apparel are produced every year. Meanwhile, clothing makes up 9% of all the waste produced. The problem is that recycling fashions isn’t easy because of the wide range of materials used. That is why we need to think about the impact of our consumption of fashion when we shop. Every customer can contribute to sustainability by supporting recycled products and preferring quality over quantity. We can all help cultivate the fashion market.

WE’VE PROMISED TO BUILD A BETTER FUTURE
CERTIFICATIONS AND PARTNERSHIPS
We’re building a more sustainable shopping centre in cooperation with our parent company VIA OUTLET as well as our certification partners. Our centre’s is to become a European leader in terms of sustainability and environmental awareness, as well as being a positive influence on our partners. As part of working toward that goal, we regularly undergo evaluations from renown international institutions and Czech organizations that prove we are taking our obligations seriously.
Fashion Arena Prague Outlet has received prestigious certificates confirming its exceptional standards in sustainability and ecology. The BREEAM Excellent certificate guarantees high standards in the management, renovation and operation of the centre with an emphasis on sustainability. The international GRESB ***** certificate confirms the financial transparency of the management with regard to environmental and social aspects. The Green Energy National Certificate from the Prague Energy Company guarantees that the centre uses only renewable electricity. Finally, the REMA SYSTEM certificate confirms that we are a green company.
THE MOVE TOWARD MORE SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORTATION
MOBILITY
Ultra-fast EV charging station - A 150 kW hypercharger from PRE that will charge your car to 80% capacity in under 30 minutes.
20 new parking spaces for electric vehicles - the new charging stations have a power output of 22 kW and are operated by the same company, Prague Power Company, as the existing hyperchargers.
Shared e-scooters - our customers can also use shared e-scooters, which are available for rent at the outlet center area near the charging station for electric vehicles provided by PRE.
Regular shuttle buses services - all customers can use the free shuttle bus from the Depo Hostivař metro station. See the current schedule here.
Bike stands - all customers that arrive on bikes can park them at the stand next to the Lindt store.
NOT A DROP WASTED
WATER USE
Water fountain - It’s important to stay hydrated. To reduce the use of plastics at our centre, we installed a water fountain on the access path next to the Lindt store, and there’s also a fountain for dogs on the ground.
Green roof - A total of 1890 m2 of our centre’s roof has been planted with succulents, which helps to reduce overheating during the summer. The retention of rainwater also increases humidity and reduces the amount of CO2 in the air.

CREATING THE CONDITIONS FOR DIVERSE LIFE
BIODIVERSITY
Planting of fruit trees - We have planted dozens of fruit trees in the area around our centre in recent years to expand biodiversity. They also serve as shelter and food for insects and small animals.
6 BEEHIVES - We located beehives in the outdoor spaces of our centre to foster greater biodiversity in the area. Bees are important for maintaining natural food chains through pollination.
Installing insect hotels - Insects are the foundation for most ecosystems. While some take care of pollination, others help break down organic waste, which led us to install insect hotels around our centre to help keep the ecosystem self-sufficient.
RECYCLING MEANS LESS WASTE
WASTE MANAGEMENT
Waste Yard - We work very thoroughly to ensure as much waste as possible produced at our centre eds up on a sorting line. For this, we use our own waste yard that takes in the separated waste from individual stores, kiosks, and that produced during the operation of our centre.
We recycle 8 different kinds of waste - Including biodegradable waste in our composter, paper, plastic, glass, batteries, cans, and textiles, which has reduced the amount of waste our centre produces by a third
KlokTex collection box - A charity collection box for clothing, shoes, and toys located in the customer parking lot close to the bus stop that results in about 20% of the textiles collected being recycled, while 75% of the wearable textiles go to charities and to third-world countries.
A BUILDING THAT IS IN HARMONY WITH NATURE
SUSTAINABLE BUILDING
Our long-term goal is to improve our building and its surroundings to have a minimal effect on the environment.
Green wall - We planted a diverse range of plants on the wall in the food court, creating a pleasant environment for our guests while reducing the amount of CO2 in the air.

CELEBRATING DIVERSITY
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
VFN Charity Market - We organized a charity marketplace to support therapy dog services at the General University Hospital in Prague, raising a total of CZK 72,731.
Give and Gain day - We regularly participate in volunteer activities where we try to help individuals and communities in need.
Accessibility certification - This certification was bestowed by the Czech National Council of Handicapped Individuals. Besides all the standard demands for accessibility, we’ve also adjusted aisles within stores so they are more comfortable for our handicapped guests.
