International Women's Day
How to emancipate your wardrobe?
In fashion, we can show the world not only what we like but also express our social attitudes. It hasn't always been this way. That's why on International Women's Day, we commemorate the rights women have gradually gained, not just in fashion. How will feminism influence fashion in 2024?
In the colors of feminism.
Throughout the feminist movement, the protest colors have been purple, green, and white. To this day, speculation persists as to why suffragettes chose these shades for their movement in 1908. There are several explanations. White represents purity, green symbolizes hope for a new beginning, and according to some, purple symbolizes justice, loyalty, and perseverance. Others argue that it symbolizes royal blood running through the veins of every feminist. Bold green accessories complement a monochromatic suit or black outfit perfectly.

Elements from the men's wardrobe
Women have distanced themselves from gender stereotypes in various ways throughout history. One of the most notable reminders of women's emancipation was adopting pieces from the men's wardrobe. While we all know Coco Chanel as a pioneer in this area, did you know that the modern trend of colorful suits was introduced by politician Angela Merkel? Throughout her career as chancellor, she wore jackets in all the colors of the rainbow. Take inspiration and dress, for example, in a lilac suit from Karl Lagerfeld brand along with purple pumps.

Cigarette pants with a slim cut and elegant appearance symbolize sophistication and breaking stereotypes in the workplace. When Amelia Bloomer introduced pants for women in the 19th century, she unwittingly laid the foundation for a fashion revolution. Every pants cut since then tells the story of women's emancipation and the journey towards equality. Wide-leg pants, on the other hand, provide comfort and freedom of movement. Don't be afraid to combine elegant cuts with bold accessories, such as a bag with decorative elements, to give the outfit an original touch.

Did you know that the timeless trench coat was originally intended for soldiers? After all, it's derived from the words "trench coat" - a coat for trenches. Its popularity stemmed from its waterproof and lightweight material. Since the 1960s, it has also earned its place in the women's wardrobe, mainly thanks to the movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's," where Audrey Hepburn wore it. The trench coat pairs perfectly with bolder accessories like a checkered hat or statement sneakers with purple accents.

Following in the footsteps of Twiggy.
In the 1960s, thanks to model Twiggy, miniskirts became a symbol of equality. Today, they represent not only fashion freedom but also the ongoing fight against the objectification of the female body. They emphasize that women's rights include the right to dress according to their own choices and freely reveal their bodies. If you choose a green-black skirt, pair it with a black oversized top and pumps. Our tip: Pair a maxi skirt in shades of purple with a crop top or trench coat for a beautiful ensemble.
