Kost castle is one of the few remaining medieval castles in Czech
Republic and it is known as the second most important of them. A favourite legend
tells of the castle named “bone” after its impregnability. It was hard as a bone.
The castle was built before the XIV century and the construction began by Beneš from Vartenberk, who built a long hall and a tower as a stronghold.
A sightseeing tour of the castle is divided into four parts called - The Kinský Family in Czech Lands, A Torture Chamber, both tours together or a tour on the castle exterior.
